LaFayette’s Scare on the Square to be held Oct. 29

The 25th annual Scare on the Square will be Friday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the LaFayette Square for children ages 4 to 12.

Roads will be blocked off around the square so that children may trick or treat safely at businesses.

The square is on U.S. 27 or Main Street in the center of downtown LaFayette.

There will be free candy. and children are encouraged to dress up for this family-friendly Halloween event. Participants are asked not to wear scary costumes.

At 6 p.m., a Halloween costume contest for children ages 12 and under will be held at the grassy lot beside LaFayette Presbyterian Church. Winners will be selected for first, second and third place.

The Bank of LaFayette and LaFayette Downtown Development Authority sponsor the annual event.
