Two Walker County men were arrested Friday, March 19, on child molestation charges by the Northwest Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

According to Walker County sheriff Steve Wilson:

Arrested were Charles E. Anderson, 38, and Joseph M. Brown, 41, both of the Fairview community.

Anderson was charged with criminal attempt of child molestation and sexual exploitation of a child. He remained at the Walker County jail on $10,000 bond.

Brown was charged with child molestation, possession of child pornography, and sexual exploitation of a child. He was released on a $25,000 bond.

According to the FBI:

Anderson, of Rossville, was arrested on state charges related to exploitation of a minor child. Anderson had been communicating with a minor child and those communications became sexual in nature.

A parent of the minor child alerted law enforcement of these communications and Anderson was arrested by Task Force Officers of the Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force after he showed up at a pre-arranged meeting for purposes of having sex with that child.

The Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force consists of federal agents from the FBI and officers from the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, Dalton Police Department, Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Rossville Police Department, and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.
