The second-seeded Lakeview Middle School Lady Warriors swept top-seeded Gordon Lee two games to none to win the North Georgia Athletic Conference softball tournament over the weekend.

Regular season champions Gordon Lee (12-2) entered the tournament after a perfect 10-0 regular season. They beat Rossville 12-0 in the opening round before downing Heritage 7-3 in the semifinals.

Lakeview beat Dade County 3-0 in their first round game before knocking off Ringgold 6-1 in the semifinals.

In Game One, Lakeview got five runs in the third inning and held on for a 5-3 win. Then in Game Two, the Lady Warriors used a four-run third to win 4-3 to win the title.

Lakeview’s Monica Vickery was named as the tournament’s

Most Valuable Player.
