On Friday, the Panthers got three RBIs from Scott Guest in a 7-3 win over visiting Morristown West (Tenn.) at The Ballpark.

Two of the RBIs came in the fourth inning when the Panthers broke open a tight game with four runs. Nick Gay also plated a run in the inning with a perfect bunt for a hit.

Bret Baker went 2-for-4 while Glover and Clayton Harrison picked up RBIs.

Michael Gay threw 5 2/3 innings allowing two walks and striking out six to move to 5-0. Baker fanned one in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

Ooltewah 8, Ridgeland 1

On Saturday, the Owls, arguably the best team in the Chattanooga area, blasted two home runs and had five players collect multiple hits in an 8-1 win in Rossville.

Blake McDade and Ryan Jones had home runs for Ooltewah (7-1). The Owls had 12 total hits.

Gay and Josh Glover went 2-for-3 for Ridgeland (7-3) who finished with just five hits.

Ridgeland scored its lone run in the fourth inning as Lee Lunsford doubled and scored on an Ooltewah error.

Justin Higdon went six innings to get the win with one earned run and seven K’s. Rick Wilson took the loss for the Panthers.

LaFayette 11, Coosa 0

At LaFayette on Thursday, the Ramblers sent 14 batters to the plate in the second inning with the first nine all reaching base and scoring in the Region 6-AA laugher.

Nick Sholtz had two of the Ramblers’ 13 hits and collected four RBIs. Tyler Caheely and Dan Brannon each had two hits in the win. Matt Overby also added a big second-inning, two-run double.

Levi Scott threw three innings to get the win, allowing just one hit. Matt Pierce threw two scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts.

Travis Cash got the only hit for Coosa, a leadoff single. Only four Eagles reached base and no runner got farther than second base.

Pepperell 7, LaFayette 2

Friday afternoon in LaFayette, the Dragons scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to rally for a Region 6-AA win in LaFayette.

The Ramblers fell to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in Region 6-AA with the loss.

LaFayette has three big region games this week — Tuesday at Model, Thursday at home versus Armuchee and next Friday at Chattooga, all slated for the first pitch at 5 p.m
