One wonders where blind faith and ignorance started ruling over facts, especially in politics.
Most U.S. presidents provide positive results for those who did and did not vote for them. Most have been powerful men with great respect for the office they hold and show strong character as an example to the rest of the world. Loved by some, hated by others, most presidents have served their country without bringing disgrace to themselves, their office or country.
Some presidents have used the power of their office and personality to attract and use young naïve women for personal gratification. Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Kennedy are presidents admired by most people of our time. All are reported to have had relationships outside their marriage while holding the office of president.
Have you ever wondered why the press did not crucify them as it finally did Clinton? Was Clinton the only president to use his position to actually use the Oval Office for personal gratification? I do not remember reading or hearing any reports of this type about other presidents.
The information on their personal activities is available; you just had to dig for it. Why did a friendly press finally bring some of the damaging facts to light about Clinton and not them?
Nixon disgraced himself and resigned from office before his actions could bring greater disgrace to the office of president and our great country. You may or may not have agreed with his politics, but you can applaud his actions to resign rather than cause further disgrace.
I have read in this paper where Clinton made poor personal choices while in office. He lied before a court of law. He lied about having sex with “that woman”. We should forgive his past sins because deep down he is an honorable man. Only those with different political views cannot forgive his past actions.
If one believes that, would the same be said about Nixon?

Smiling and looking good before a group of people is expected of leaders or those who hope to lead. But these are not qualifications for leadership. A good leader has a firm plan with which to start his or her career. The people usually select them for their positions and will accept deviations from their plan when reality dictates another route. Doing this is not flip-flopping or being two-faced. If it were, those of us who recognized a changing situation and corrected our direction would be guilty of this accusation also.
Most people see through flip-flopping for what it is. Saying only what the audience wants to hear is an insult to the intelligence of all. Current communication systems lay bare the contempt this type individual has for the masses. Only blind faith or ignorance of the true facts will cause someone to support someone who brings disrespect to the highest office and laws of our land.
Women have waited and worked for equality with the male. When a few act as if they represent the masses and pay honor to a leader whose actions show he has no respect for their gender and uses any number of them for personal gratification, what example is she showing the youth of our time? Why are some females so eager to yield their honor by submitting to the whims of a powerful male who has shown he has no respect for them and repeatedly demonstrates their only role in life is to serve his personal needs? Is this man to be considered an honorable man?
Scott O’Grady once said this about honor: “It wasn’t the reward that mattered or the recognition you might harvest. It was your depth of commitment, your quality of service, the product of your devotion — these were the things that counted in a life. When you gave purely, the honor came in the giving, and that was honor enough.”
Clinton did not come close to this standard for honor.
