According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:
Amanda Michelle Alexander, 24, of Glade Road in Rossville, Ga., was arrested on Jan. 25 on charges of attempted robbery and terroristic threats and acts. She has been released on bond.
The incident occurred just before 3 a.m., when employees of the Walgreens at 1228 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway) encountered Alexander in the pharmacy area, reports show.
“Upon my arrival, I met with the pharmacist, who stated that Alexander entered the store and approached the counter,” officer James Brannon said. “He stated that Alexander handed him a note and for him to please read it. Upon reading the note, he realized that Alexander was in fact attempting to rob the pharmacy of narcotics.”
The pharmacist told police he attempted to stall or delay Alexander in an attempt to contact police, and at that point she realized the police were on their way, and she immediately fled.
Shortly after fleeing, Alexander was stopped by Lt. David Gilbert and officers Greg Cross and Matthew Ray, reports show. She was taken to the police station for questioning.
