Drafted by city manager John Culpepper, the budget predicts a total 2013 revenue of $1,328,829. Minus anticipated expenditures of $1,289,155, Culpepper expects a surplus of $39,674.
The 2012 amended budget, although similar, netted a $15,160 loss due to expenditures of $1,315,271 compared to revenues of $1,299,828.
Nearly $50,000 of unbudgeted capital outlay funds were spent on sidewalks, trails and road improvements in 2012, with the changes noted in the annoted budget and mostly balanced by unspent funds in other areas.
The Chickamauga budget is set to be approved Monday evening, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m. Any city residents with questions or concerns regarding the budget are asked to contact city hall before that time.
