Dear editor,

Rarely does an individual get a second chance in life; however, this is exactly what is going to happen on Nov. 6. On that day, we will have a choice in whom we want to serve as our county commissioner.

I urge each and every person that voted for me to now write-in Ales Campbell for commissioner of Walker County. This is our chance to change the course that is leading Walker County to financial crisis. We must change course or face a bleak future for our children and loved ones. I implore all Republicans, Democrats and Independents to follow these simple steps:

· At the race for commissioner, select “Write-In.” A keyboard will appear on the screen.

· Type in “Ales Campbell.”

· Press “Record Write-in.” This will add Ales Campbell to the screen with an “X” beside her name. Make sure you see her name typed on the screen when reviewing your ballot.

· If you have any problems or questions, ask one of the poll workers for help.

Remember, this is our chance for honest and responsive government and a better future for all of our citizens.

We can take back Walker County.

G. Paul Shaw, LaFayette

BeBe, It's November 29th. The last county commissioner meeting was on October 18th. The law require at least one meeting per month. Even if there is no new business ... It still must be held. Do the job by the law and earn some of the $100,000 a year you are paid to do ... and still no budget for Walker County for 2013.

Actually, the Geogia law says that the schedule for meetings is determined by the local authority. So to try to insinuate that something illegal is being done is ridiculous.

Actually local, it is once a month.

State law leaves meeting schedules up to the enabling legislation creating the county government. Walker County's is silent.

Thank you Orwell for clearing this up. People should check facts before accusing someone of something illegal. I'm not surprised at the reaction especially when you know where al the hoopla is coming from. Some people love drama.

I don't believe that Ales Campbell has the qualifications to run the County. I also think Dr. Shaw would like to control things behind the scenes.

This letter says to me that Shaw is seeing Campbell's campaign a Second chance for HIM. He lost in the Primary for a lot of reasons, her campaign is just a spin off of his. He obviously doesn't know one thing about WC's financial situation, or he is just trying a scare tactic to win votes. A person who would do this, would do anything. Where are his ethics???

I see a Sore Loser desperate for a second chance.

What's a "true" business person? Both have run successful businesses. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but there various under-qualified people running Walker County in the Commissioner's administration.

The person that needs to be commissioner should be a true business person. That knows facts and figures inside and know how a business is run inside and out. Without any shadows that will loom over this county. With a county our size I feel that Ales or Paul is not the real, true answer to our county.

I agree Kaceybay, well said.
