A man from Dalton has been arrested for the second time in two months for a theft in LaFayette.

According to LaFayette police reports:

James Clifton Bell Jr. of Fredrick Street in Dalton was arrested for allegedly stealing a cell phone from the LaFayette Walmart on April 20.

Loss prevention personnel at the store witnessed Bell cutting security packaging from a $100 Straight Talk cell phone at 8:30 p.m. in the store’s electronics department.

Bell walked through several other areas of the store before placing the phone in his left pants pocket.

He then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. Surveillance video also shows Bell getting into a Black Dodge Durango after the theft.

The packaging for the phone was recovered in the store and had several drops of blood inside.

Officers believe that Bell cut himself while removing the phone.

The license plate from the video was used to track down the driver, which was interviewed by the LaFayette Police Department.

The driver did not enter the store with Bell, but did identify him to authorities after being shown the surveillance video.

Bell was also arrested on March 4 at the Pit Stop gas station for another alleged theft.

Surveillance video shows Bell walking to the back of the store and grabbing two Budweiser 30 packs from the cooler.

A female who entered with Bell prepaid for $10 of gas.

Bell exited the store and pumped gas along with the female driver before driving off in a Black Dodge Durango with the stolen beer.

The employee at the store recognized the suspect, stating that Bell comes in once a day usually.

He steals, that's what he does. Too bad he didn't cut an artery while stealing the cell phone. You are a lousy thief. Just pay for the things you want. D'bag.
