A Walker County clash and county border war will be on the docket for Saturday, Nov. 19 when the North Georgia Youth Football League holds its championship games.

The 6 and 7-year-old division title game will pit the LaFayette Ramblers against the Summerville Indians. LaFayette defeated the LFORA Warriors in Saturday's semifinal, 14-0, while Summerville rolled past the Trion Bulldogs, 36-6.

And in the 10 and 11-year-old division, it will be a battle for Walker County bragging rights when the Chattanooga Valley Eagles face off against the LaFayette Ramblers. Chattanooga Valley shut out Ringgold, 42-0, on Saturday, while LaFayette got past Chickamauga, 22-16.

Berths in the 8 and 9-year-old championship game will be up for grabs this Saturday. The Trion Bulldogs took a 20-6 decision over LaFayette this past Saturday and will face Chattanooga Valley in one semifinal while the Summerville Chiefs edged Ringgold, 8-0, and will do battle with Chickamauga Blue in the other semifinal.

All three championship games will be played at Ridgeland High School. The 6 and 7-year-old title game will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the 8 and 9-year-old title game at 1:30 p.m. The 10 and 11-year-old title game will get underway at approximately 3:55.

Rossville will have two of its teams competing for Scenic City Youth Football League titles.

The 8-year-old Bulldogs knocked off previously unbeaten East Ridge, 7-0, to advance to the finals. Jeremiah Turner scored the winning touchdown for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs won the title in 2010 and will again face East Hamilton in the finals on Saturday at Chattanooga's Finley Stadium.

The 12-year-old Bulldogs also shut out East Ridge, 12-0, to punch their ticket to the finals. Mikey Smith caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Kaleb Borhman and Jordan Hughley scored on a 32-yard run.

Rossville will play the Boynton Cowboys for the championship this Saturday. It will be the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams. Boynton has won two of the three previous meetings.

The 7-year-old Bulldogs saw their season end on Saturday with a 13-6 loss to the East Brainerd Titans. Ashton Turner scored the lone touchdown for the Bulldogs.

The Rossville 10-year-olds hosted the Section 11's from the Sand Mountain League at Ridgeland on Saturday with Section holding off the Bulldogs for a 43-40 win.

Trailing 36-12 after Section ran the second half kickoff back for a touchdown, Rossville fought back to cut the score to 36-34 but got no closer.

Devonte Tipton scored five touchdowns and ran for more than 200 yards for Rossville while quarterback Austin Chastain passed for more than 150 yards, including three completions that went for second-half touchdowns.

Chastain hit Tipton on scoring passes of 75 and 38 yards while Jordan Sims had a 12-yard TD catch and hauled in a pair of 2-point conversions.

Brody Campbell intercepted a pass and Dennis “Butter" Bean recovered a fumble for Rossville.
