The Gordon Lee Middle School Trojans scored their second huge double-overtime win of the season on Thursday, winning 12-6 at Ringgold, to remain in a tie atop the North Georgia Athletic Conference football standings with one regular season game remaining.

Andrew Towns scored on a long touchdown run in the first half, then in the second overtime session, Towns carried the ball to the Tigers' 1-yard-line before quarterback Caleb O'Neal snuck in for what turned out to be the game-winning score.

Ringgold fell to 3-2 with the loss.

The Trojans are currently tied with Dade County and Heritage at 4-1 overall. Gordon Lee beat Dade County in double-overtime, 28-20, back on Sept. 8, while their lone loss was a season-opening 14-8 setback to Heritage.

The Wolverines had an open date on Thursday while Heritage kept pace with a 30-20 win versus Rossville, dropping the Bulldogs to 3-2 overall.

Chris Henderson and Tristan Bethune had touchdown runs for Rossville while William Boydston had a TD catch.

LaFayette got in the win column on Thursday with a 34-7 Homecoming victory over Chattanooga Valley.

The Ramblers (1-4) got 120 yards rushing from T.J. Hawkins, including TD runs of 73, 22 and 9 yards. Kadarrin Ramsey had over 100 yards rushing and picked off two passes, including a 42-yard return for a score on the game's first play from scrimmage. Clayton Lane added a 2-yard plunge and had several tackles for loss to lead the defensive effort.

Ivy Boehm scored on a short TD run for the Eagles (0-5).

No information on the Lakeview-Trion game was available as of press time.

LaFayette's final regular season game at Gordon Lee has been moved to Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The Chattanooga Valley-Rossville game will be played at Ridgeland High School and will also be played on Tuesday. The junior varsity game will begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.

Heritage will host Lakeview in their regular season finale. Dade County will play at Ringgold while Trion will have an open date.

The playoffs will be on Oct. 20 with the NGAC championship game set for Oct. 27.
