Police arrested a father and son July 13 after the two men were caught reportedly breaking into a parked car and stealing a woman’s purse at the Fort Oglethorpe Wal-Mart.

According to Fort Oglethorpe Police Department reports:

William Andrew McNeese, 53, and Jesse Andrew McNeese, 25, both of 2175 Ga. 95 in Rock Spring, were each charged with felony entering an auto, after still photos and video surveillance showed the two men committing the crime.

The vehicle owner told police that while she and her daughter were shopping in Wal-Mart from noon to 1 p.m., someone broke into her car and took her daughter’s purse.

The purse contained personal papers, cash, an ultrasound photo of her unborn child, WIC vouchers and medication, including hydrocodone.

“After taking the initial report from the victims, I met with Terry Williamson of Wal-Mart,” said Lt. Steve Blevins in the report. “Mr. Williamson supplied me with copies of still photos of the suspects and their truck, and also had a copy of the video showing the suspects entering the car.”

Later in the day, about 3:40 p.m., another call came in that the suspects were back at Wal-Mart and being ob-served by store’s staff.

Both men were taken into custody at their vehicle.

The elder McNeese led police to a dumpster behind the China City restaurant at the west end of the Wal-Mart parking lot where the purse had been thrown away.
