The local chain, which began with the Ringgold store, now has eight locations in north Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. The store opened in 1956 and the chain of stores shows no signs of slowing down.
“It just goes to show you that if you provide quality products, quality service, and if you treat people right, they’ll keep coming back to you,” said Todd Richardson, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the chain.
Richardson, a third-generation member of the Shop-Rite family, says that the family atmosphere created by his father and grandfather is something that the chain strives to maintain to this date.
“It’s a family atmosphere around here, and it always has been,” Richardson said. “We value our customers very much, and we always try to do everything we can to take care of them to ensure that they keep coming to see us. We’re the hometown store, and it’s all about building relationships that matter.”
According to Richardson, the company’s deals and quality of meat products is one of the many reasons people continue to frequent the store.
“Our meat department is our real sales driver,” he said. “Even if people happen to pick up certain items at other stores, they seem to always find their way here to get the meat they’re looking for.”
The chain has locations in Ringgold, LaFayette, Chatsworth, Chickamauga and Tunnel Hill in Georgia and in Jas-per, Tenn., Dayton, Tenn., and Stevenson, Ala.
