Rossville teen Lauren Alaina will perform tonight, as a new week of Fox’s hit reality show “American Idol” kicks off with the remaining 11 contestants set to perform.

The 16-year-old Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School cheerleader, and the other finalists hoping to become the next “Idol,” will be asked to perform soulful songs as part of the show’s “Motown Night.”

The remaining “Idol” contestants consist of six males and five females: Lauren Alaina, Pia Toscano, Haley Reinhart, Thia Megia, Naima Adedapo, Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald, James Durbin, Jacob Lusk, Stefano Lan-gone, and Scotty McCreery.

In a live results show on Thursday beginning 8 p.m., one of the 11 contestants will be eliminated.

Alaina is the daughter of Kristy and J.J. Suddeth of Rossville. She attends Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School, where she is a sophomore.

Alaina is a veteran performer, having sung regularly at Magoo’s Restaurant on Ringgold Road between Chattanooga and East Ridge, Tenn. She won the WinnieStar youth talent contest at Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park in Rossville in 2009. She has also performed a number of times at Acoustic Cafe in Ringgold.

Before “Idol,” Alaina worked on weekends at CiCi's Pizza in Fort Oglethorpe.

She has a Facebook page, "Lauren Alaina Suddeth."
