LaFayette has scheduled a water outage beginning at midnight tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 7, and lasting about two hours into the early morning of Wednesday, Aug. 8.

The outage is necessary for the water department to replace a fire hydrant at the corner of East Villanow Street and the square in downtown LaFayette.

Affected properties include those off the downtown square and Villanow Street, and public housing near the cemetery. Water department officials promise water service will be restored as soon as possible and are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the interruption in service.

For more information, call the city water department at 706-639-1561 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
