• Between 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 1 p.m. on Jan. 2, a forced-entry burglary occurred at Mack Smith Mini Storage at 1353 Mack Smith Road in Ringgold, resulting in the theft of multiple items from a storage unit.

On Jan. 2, the manager of the business called police after learning that a storage unit had been burglarized in addition to locks been cut off of at least eight other units.

The owner of the storage unit was notified, and it was discovered that the Master lock he had secured on the unit had been cut, and that multiple items had been taken from within.

An electric pole saw, and air compressor, two gas powered tillers, and multiple miscellaneous hand tools were taken from the unit during the theft.

The total estimated value of the stolen property was $3,000.

The unit owner told police that he last visited his items two weeks prior to the theft.

The case was turned over to detective Timothy Busby.

• Between 9 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 3:32 p.m. on Dec. 31, a larceny entering auto occurred at 112 Stubby Lane in Rossville resulting in the theft of nearly $1,600 worth of electronics from the vehicle.

The victim told police that an unknown offender(s) entered his 1997 Chevrolet Blazer while it was parked at his workshop.

The victim did admit that the vehicle was left unlocked prior to the incident.

A 1000-watt amplifier, a 15-inch speaker, and a radio head unit, were taken from the vehicle during the theft.

The victim was unable to provide any serial number information for the stolen property, and told police that he didn't have any information regarding possible suspects either.

The case was turned over to detective Michael Tinker.
