A Chattanooga man remained in Catoosa County jail Tuesday morning after being arrested on multiple charges during a DUI stop in Fort Oglethorpe late Thanksgiving night.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Gabino Roblero, 29, of Willow Street in Chattanooga, Tenn., was arrested Thursday, Nov. 22, on charges of DUI, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), open container, expired license, and failure to maintain a single lane.

Roblero's bond has been set at $6,000. But he isn’t eligible to be released from jail due to a hold placed on him by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Officers were dispatched to LaFayette Road just before 10:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day after a citizen reported Roblero's vehicle driving erratically.

"I was advised by Catoosa 911 of a possible intoxicated driver on LaFayette Road," officer Michael Cannon said. "Dispatch later advised me that the driver was on Cloud Springs Road turning onto Cross Street."

Roblero was observed weaving in and out of his lane and nearly struck a vehicle head-on near Lakeview Middle School before pulling over on Cross Street.

"I made contact with Mr. Roblero and detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle when he rolled down his window," Cannon said. "I also observed a large, open Corona beer bottle lying in the front floor board, as well as a second open bottle in the passenger seat wrapped in a brown paper bag."

Roblero admitted he had been drinking and agreed to participate in a field sobriety test, reports show.

"As Mr. Roblero exited the vehicle, he was very unsteady on his feet," Cannon said. "He was then given a standardized field sobriety test, which he failed."

Roblero was placed under arrest while an inventory of the vehicle was conducted, reports show.

"During the inventory of the truck, I found a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana under the driver's seat of the vehicle," Cannon said.

Roblero was transported to Catoosa County jail without incident.
